The Humanity of the Moment

“There is one thing the photo must contain – the humanity of the moment”.What a quote - I agree with you.

There is one thing the photo must contain – the humanity of the moment”. What a quote - I agree with you. I didn’t say this, Robert Frank did. However, decades later the words still resonate. I won’t bore you with who he was and how much he has contributed to this world as an artist. What I will say is that his words have had an impact on photography landscape and for me specifically wedding photography. Here are my five favorite wedding photos that scream the humanity of the moment.

1. The Poncils

Look at those gorgeous smiles! Don’t they seem joyful and in love? As they should it’s the most memorable day of their life. This is my all-time favorite wedding picture. Their smiles capture the essence of their love for one another, along with their amazing personalities.

2. The Russ Wedding

I believe that there is nothing like an elegant and timeless photo. The anticipation of Mrs. Russ' vintage wedding at The Detroit Whisky Factory was a memory she will never forget. This is a moment worth having, hours before you say the life-changing phrase…. I do!

Ede Wedding

Trust me when I tell you it was a very cold and snowy day in Grand Rapids, MI. No one likes it when “mother nature” doesn’t cooperate with your plans on your WEDDING DAY! But that didn’t stop these two lovebirds from cherishing this special moment. In such a blizzard, all that mattered was that together forever was just a few minutes away.

4. The Oldham Wedding

Few things are more meaningful than family. Nothing was more apparent on Mrs. Oldham’s wedding day. So many candid moments were captured. This one, in particular, would warm anyone's heart. Sons are the anchors of a mother's life.

5. Hammon Wedding

Mrs. Hammon feels all the emotions as she listens to the words of wisdom her father has for her. This is a moment that will last a lifetime for a loveable father and an honorable daughter.
