Proper real estate photos require the use of bracketed exposure photography. What this means is that a photo is automatically taken at several light exposures compensating for various amounts of light in the scene, and then all those photos are melded into one single image. This allows you to see evenly distributed light both inside the room as well as outside the windows. The images are then color corrected, and any distracting artifacts are eliminated.
